For a Friend

The Greatest Gift

Of all the gifts that God  has loaned me, the love of beauty is the one I cherish most.  God constantly  surrounds us with beauty, whether we notice it or not.  Even brokenness is  beautiful when seen through his eyes.  When Job demanded to know why all he had  been given was lost, in response God showed him what Job had never lost--wonder  heaped up on wonder, the results of God's creative power.   Of all miracles, the  one that allows us to recieve wonder is the greatest miracle of all--for us to  breathe beauty along with the air into our hearts, to eat the loaf of it, to  drink from the fountain of it, someday to sleep in it and dream it, at last to  wake to it and walk in it.

Giving and recieving are the respirations of the soul.

To give is a blessing,

To recieve, a sacrament.

Thank you so much, Pam!!! I read it with shivers running up and down me. God is so good! Thank you for being such a thoughtful friend! I really appreciate the words, and I'm going to save them on a note on my computer, so I can re-read them whenever I need them!

Hugs!! God bless you big! I heard you have had a few big problems yourself, and I am so glad you are doing better!!!

God is GOOD!!!

Elaine, you shared some of your writing on facebook a few weeks ago. You have been blessed with a very substantial gift, woman.
I am praying that someday soon you will find a way to use your gift to encouage others going through hard times. You are such a blessing! Love, Pam
